The powerful features in djay Pro 2 make it easy to mix and match tracks.
“Scratching and looping, that’s all stuff on top,” Morsy says. “To empower people to be artists and musicians and DJs, you need to give them something they can use to begin.”
Enter Morsy’s company, Algoriddim, and its award-winning suite of software that’s being embraced by hobbyists and professionals alike. “If you can use iTunes, you’ll be able to use this,” says Morsy. “We wanted to help people do more than just play and pause – to be able to start mixing.” Uplay download mac os x.
On Mac, djay Pro 2 integrates as smoothly with your iTunes library as it does with high-end mixing equipment. You can also organise your music library by beats per minute or key to easily find compatible tracks on the fly. If you’re looking for an easy way to beat-match, the Automix feature – powered by a proprietary algorithm – determines the best intro and outro points to make your segues seamless.
Algoriddim has more than a decade of experience developing software for Mac, and it shows, with native integrations that include trackpad Multi-Touch gestures and Force Touch, along with full VoiceOver compatibility. “We had to design software that’s accessible to a consumer and still suitable for a professional,” Morsy says.

If you’re using djay Pro 2 on a Mac with Touch Bar, you’ll have scratching, slicing, looping, cue points and more at your fingertips. There are also one-, two- and four-deck modes, the ability to save up to eight loops per song and, of course, an air horn effect.
Fancy yourself as more of a multimedia maven? djay Pro 2 sports a VJing suite for playing videos to the beat. “It doesn’t matter if you’re scratching an MP3 file in your library or a streaming track or a video,” Morsy says. “The experience is seamless.”
Into visuals? djay Pro 2 lets you mix videos as seamlessly as beats.
Algoriddim’s focus on an easy-to-use interface combined with powerful functionality has resulted in an impressively broad and passionate cohort of brand ambassadors. These range from Tay James, who travels the world as Justin Bieber’s official DJ, to South African child prodigy DJ Arch Jnr.

“Human beings are born musical,” says Morsy, who has studied computer science and music theory, as well as psychology and neuroscience. Wedding dash full version free. “We want to allow people to express themselves through music regardless of their age.”
Another of Algoriddim’s ambassadors, New York-based Valentino La Rosa (aka DJ ValNtino) cited the software’s reliability as key to his live performances of energetic tracks that blend hip-hop with house and EDM. Music
“A lot depends on my equipment not crashing,” says La Rosa. “I can’t worry about it; I have to read my crowd and think about my music selection. Whatever I use has to just work.”
These days La Rosa prefers his laptop to crates of vinyl records. “I love vinyl and it has a place in my heart, but it’s not practical. It’s expensive,” he says, ruefully. “We can take advantage of the technology with an app like djay Pro 2 and still be authentic.” Like Morsy, La Rosa hopes DJing will become accessible to everyone willing to work at it. “The same way you learn to play piano or guitar, you hang out in your bedroom and learn how to DJ. You can get pretty good!” he says. To get to the next level ultimately means having software that will allow you to create work you can share with an audience: “It’s all about selecting the song, reading the crowd, creating the journey through music.” Comments are closed.
